Math Mondays & Tuesdays

A hands-on exploration of how math lives in the land, our daily experiences and our community. Learners will investigate number and operations, measurement, geometry, patterns, data, fractions, spatial relationships and problem-solving through mapping, outdoor observation, games, garden planning, graphs and collaborative projects. Children will practice explaining their mathematical thinking through drawings, objects, equations, maps, symbols and conversation.

Activities will be thoughtfully scaled for ages 5–12. Younger learners may count, sort, build patterns, compare quantities and measure with concrete materials; developing learners will explore place value, operations, early multiplication, graphs and standard measurement; and older learners will work with multi-digit operations, fractions, area, perimeter, scale, proportional reasoning and multi-step problems.
