Creative Current brings Natural-Materials Art—a hands-on, place-based exploration of drawing, painting, sculpture and installation using materials and inspiration gathered from the natural surroundings here in Northern New Mexico in a reciprocal way. We will practice observational drawing, texture, line, form, pattern, color, composition and visual storytelling while experimenting with clay, charcoal, earth pigments, stones, leaves, fibers and other natural or found materials.

Projects will connect art with ecology, local landscapes, seasonal changes, literature, music and theatre. Individual works may grow into collaborative exhibitions and installations that invite children to observe closely, experiment with materials, express personal ideas and tell the stories of the living world around them.
