Inspire Roots is a self-directed learning cooperative in Taos, New Mexico — where children ages 5–12+ build real academic foundations and practical life skills through hands-on, mentor-guided learning rooted in the rhythms of the natural world.
Children here craft their own educational journeys with the full support of experienced facilitators — pursuing core academics, creative arts, and land-connected projects in ways that are meaningful, rigorous, and responsive to who they are. This is not learning without structure. It is learning with the right structure — one that honors each child’s path while ensuring they grow in confidence, competence, and connection.
We support homeschooling families and those seeking a thoughtful, intentional alternatives to what is currently available — with full-time, part-time and aftercare options designed around your family’s real life.
Reciprocity is the foundation of all we do. We believe that when children are in genuine relationship with mentors, peers, and the natural world, they don’t just learn… they grow into capable, connected, purposeful people.

Not ready to apply? Fridays are open to everyone. Discovery Days runs 9:00 to 5:00 every Friday — $50 for the whole day, or $25 for a single class, with no application and no membership. Before- and after-care is open to any family too, Monday through Thursday, and OST funding can cover both. See what a day looks like.

Family Meet & Greet / Orientation Day — 302 Camino de la Placita
We warmly welcome learners, parents, siblings and extended family members to come together, meet one another and our full facilitator team, and celebrate the beginning of this wonderful community we’re creating together.
You’ll receive information and insight on our offerings, along with a September calendar full of trips, activities and talking points you can bring up with your child at the end of each day.
Please bring the completed enrollment packet for each child so we can keep those on file — if you haven’t received one yet, just reach out.
