Designed as the nurturing home for all things plant wisdom. Here we begin to recognize and familiarize ourselves with local flora and wild edibles. Learning the gentle art of mushroom foraging, tea/herbal blending for brews and salves, preserving, testing plant pigments for pH infusions and functional potions are just a few of the science explorations that this plant-centric space will house… celebrating hands-on discovery, and respectful connection with the healing powers of our Mother Earth.
Equipped with shelves of labeled glass jars filled with dried herbs, flowers, roots, and mushrooms; fresh herb pots on windowsills; mortars and pestles, strainers, funnels, and blending bowls; teapots, cups, and honey jars for brewing; magnifying glasses, notebooks, and drying racks for observations and foraged finds!
Open wall space showcases pressed herb specimens, hand-drawn plant sketches, foraging maps of local trails, seasonal harvest charts [and more]. We warmly welcome guest herbalists, foragers, and elders to share stories of traditional uses, guide safe mushroom identification, demonstrate wildcrafting ethics, or lead seasonal blending workshops.
In this herbology lab we reinforce the importance of observation and empower curiosity through close study of plant parts, scents, and textures. Science blooms naturally here—exploring solubility in teas, growth cycles, or basic chemistry in infusions. Sensory joy flows with aromas, tastes, and textures. Emotionally, the room nurtures respect for nature’s apothecary, patience in drying and blending, gratitude for local plants and mushrooms, confidence in creating nourishing remedies, empathy for traditional knowledge keepers, and the quiet wonder of healing through plants— here we celebrate Earth’s generosity!
